Salmon Netsmen Legal Challenge Feb 2019

Written by Ted Eadie on .

This morning on radio Scotland, they were discussing a documentary film they had made regarding the netting of Atlantic salmon off the coast of Scotland. This practice, is of course on hold, for a three year trial period, which the Scottish Government pays compensation. The Scottish Government ,has now decided, that this trial period is extended indefinitely, but not sure if the compensation will continue indefinitely. Because the netting rights, in Scotland are heritable, the netsmen are now to raise a legal challenge to the Scottish Government.
